Brooks Norman Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Brooks spent part of his childhood in Liberia, West Africa, falling in love with Afrobeats not as a genre he discovered later, but as a sound he grew up around. He moved to London, growing up in the city's drill scene, and spent summers in Atlanta, the birthplace of trap. Being invited to Yonkers, by his mentor Jada Kiss and sitting one-on-one with a top 5 dead or alive rapper in a studio playing his beats, gave him, as a young producer, insights that most people will never get.

He's kept studying ever since — sitting with producers in Kenya, digging into rhythm in Ibiza, and following the thread through Costa Rica, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, Morocco, Sweden, and China — 30 countries in total. Not as a tourist, but as someone who wants to know a sound before he touches it.

For Brooks, this was never a hobby. He's walked into maximum-security correctional facilities in multiple states as a motivational speaker, standing before the men, helping them get ready for release and for the opportunities waiting on the other side. He's watched what music on those kiosks and tablets actually does for someone in that position — and that's what pushed him to build Black Phantom Media. He's always believed music has the power to lift people up, and this was the place that belief and that purpose finally met.

Now studying Music Technology at New York University, Brooks channels all of it into Black Phantom Media — an independent music company he founded to connect artists with audiences through platforms built for real reach.

Brooks produces for artists who want more than just a song release — and he creates music for the incarcerated who need more than just a hook.
